Frequently Asked Questions

All Wimpy beef patties are made from 100% British & Irish Beef with just an added seasoning. This means that the burger patty recipe is actually 99% beef (which is 100% British & Irish) and 1% seasoning. The seasoning is made up of salt, pepper and spices and because some of the spice is carried on wheat flour there is, therefore, a very small amount of wheat gluten present in the finished product. Our burgers have always contained our unique seasoning and we give full information about the ingredients and allergens that are present in our nutritional guide in-store and on the Wimpy website. This recipe has been established for many years and we use only approved and independently accredited manufacturers to supply all of our products.
Yes. Since January 2018, all own label Wimpy products – including the eggs used in our own delicious sauces - are free range and all shell eggs supplied through the Wimpy distribution channel are only free range. Wimpy has further committed to switching to cage-free alternatives on the remaining very small number of non-own label products that contain egg ingredients on our menu. This will be in place by the end of 2025 at the latest. In the meantime, we continue to work closely with our third party suppliers in order to achieve this change at the earliest opportunity.
A nutritional guide is available in all Wimpy restaurants, and is available to view online via the QR code on our menus. This provides the full nutritional information for each menu item, as well as listing the presence of any allergens. In addition, we also publish an Ingredients and Allergen guide giving details of the component food products that we use to assemble our meals. This is available on our website.
The Beyond Burger® is currently available from the majority of our restaurants. Made from 100% vegan ingredients, it is cooked and prepared completely separately from meat products to ensure no cross-contamination. The Wimpy menu includes many other meat-free alternatives and non-meat items. However, these items may be cooked in the same oil as meat or fish products and Wimpy does not claim any menu item (other than the vegan Burger) as being specifically suitable for a vegetarian or vegan diet. We recognise that individual customers’ needs can vary significantly and are always happy to discuss your specific requirements at the restaurant.
A number of items on our menu are free from ingredients containing gluten. However, we cannot absolutely guarantee that cross-contamination will not occur within the restaurant environment and therefore do not currently promote any foods with a specific “gluten-free” claim. We would always advise that you seek guidance from your doctor or medical professional to discuss the suitability of any of our menu items in relation to specific dietary requirements. Details of ingredients and allergens in our foods can be found on our website.
We do not currently have Halal accreditation for any of our restaurants and do not specifically identify any of the products on our menu as being suitable for a Halal diet. We recognise that individual customers’ needs can vary significantly and are always happy to discuss your specific requirements at the restaurant.

I decided to treat my friend to dinner at the Wimpy because we both had good news that day. The restaurant was pretty full and there was only one member of staff taking orders, cooking and giving the food out and that was the blonde lady. The poor thing was run ragged Which meant that she couldn’t take your order off 20 - 30 minutes. When it was our turn to order some guy come out and she still carried on doing all three things by herself. It’s a very strange way of working. However, the blonde lady was very polite, the food was really good. It’s just the Service really has to improve.

im willing to say this was my favourite fast food dining service EVER. Forget what you know and what youre used to at overhyped Shakeshack or McDonalds, this WIMPY mixes the modern speed at which my food came to my table, with an oldschool diner vibe that I have missed dearly. Affordable at that too, and I have to say customer service was perfect as well, thank you to the staff for being so perceptive. Gimme another burger!!!

I started going here occassionally many years ago. I like that I am allowed to take my time, and just have a drink, and chill if I do not want to eat. I will remember to take pictures of my food next time I go, and upload. Although I have seen staff change, and come and go, even though not many are English staff, the international group who are happy to work there, are so friendly, and try very hard, in English, which is not their home language, to make you feel welcome. Never any rolling of eyes (as I see one liar claim), sneers and gritted teeth, but always a wide friendly smile. They are NEVER rude, as I have recently seen one nasty person, who is even going so far as to make multiple FAKE profiles, to falsely imply. How disgusting, and what a completely nasty person. The restaurant staff are patient, even when parents are not prepared to discipline their children, but allow them to run riot, shrieking and carrying on like banshees. They quietly ask that people take care with a child, to try to avoid the child being injured, especially when it is jumping all over the furniture. As much as I, as a women, detest the need for SOME women to haul out their gazungas and flap them all over the place to "make a point". Most of the women I have seen do this, do try to be discreet, not wishing to offend others. ... sadly, not always the case. The staff never oggle or stare at anyone. And, in the many years I have been going here, I have never seen any woman who feels the need to be a public embarrassment to older women, who did know how to go out and not expose themselves, make a scene, as one woman has done a few days ago. The service, given lack of staff, is still quick, and the food is always carefully, and well prepared. Not only that, but they are always happy to change the order, if you are unhappy with what you are given. They also often give help to the needy. And, sometimes are even willing to meet shortfalls out of their own pockets! I have taken many friends from overseas here for a cheap, quick meal, and all of them have raved at the quality and reasonable price, as well as being impressed at the great, friendly, and caring service. I think this place deserves 10 stars, as a mid-range family-friendly restaurant. Anyone giving it 1 star, needs to see a psychiatrist, or should perhaps stop taking drugs.
